About the Event

Opening ceremony begins at 12:30 with a theatrical and musical presentation by CMCArts "Youth Summer Theater and Music Camp" followed by a panel discussion at 2:30.

The exhibition is a collection of of sugar mills and former plantations. This exhibition pays reverence to the many enslaved Africans that lived and worked on the many estates on St. Croix.

The panel disccussion will discuss questions regarding accessing historical spaces, enacting legislation or policies to safegaurd heritage spaces, colonial trauma, the future of the eco and heritage tourism in the Virgin Islands, and the creolization of the Danish West Indies.
