Tuesday, March 25 4:45-5:45pm $10 St. Gerard's Hall, Frederiksted next to St. Patrick's School Instructor: Rodney Lopez, CMCArts Artist-in-Residence Register. Get ready to step, sway, and have a blast! Merengue is a fun and easy dance from the Dominican Republic that will have you moving to the beat in no time. In this workshop, Rodney will teach you simple steps to get you dancing with confidence. It’s the perfect way to have fun, make new friends, and get the party started on the dance floor! *Bring Water *Wear clothes that you can move in. Instructor Rodney Lopez, CMCArts Artist-in-Residence: Rodney Eric López is an accomplished educator, artist, and non-profit leader. His diverse professional background includes successful tenures in teaching artistry, training, coaching and facilitation, corporate communications and public relations, and nonprofit leadership. Featured in the hit documentary Mad Hot Ballroom, Rodney fosters teamwork and collaboration with high energy and easy-to-follow social dance classes, and facilitates thought-provoking workshops on giving, fundraising, and values-based leadership. He is a board member of New Urban Arts and the Providence Public Library and is a proud member of the Rhode Island Foundation's Equity Leadership Initiative. Rodney holds a B.S. in Communications Studies from New York University where he was a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholar. He holds a certificate in Spiritual Entrepreneurship from the Glean Network and Venture for All Program at Columbia Business School.
